Last Heavy-Lifts shipment for ILO Project (Peru)

Last week ALTIUS successfully completed shipment of the last three Transformers for the Ilo Project, each weighing 151 tons, from Ilo Port to final site at "Nodo Energético del Sur".

The three Transformers were transported on the vessel MV BBC Amber, together with the rest of break-bulk cargo, from Korea to Peru.

Our on-site team was faced with a strong groundswell that made it impossible for the vessel to be offloaded at first arrival.

Careful monitoring of weather conditions revealed a window of favourable sea conditions. The heavy equipment was then offloaded taking advantage of this window within one morning, despite the remaining swell.

All three Transformers were placed directly from the vessel onto conventional trailer trucks, to be transported by road to final Project site.

Last shipment of heavy parts for the "ILO" project (Peru)

Last week ALTIUS successfully completed the transport of the last three 155-ton each Transformers, from the port of Ilo to the "Nodo Energético del Sur" construction site.

The vessel M/V BBC Amber was in charge of the sea voyage of these three Transformers together with the rest of the general cargo from Korea to Peru.

Our team working on-site had to face a strong groundswell that did not allow the start of unloading operations upon arrival of the vessel at the unloading port.

After detailed weather monitoring, a window of good sea conditions was found, so all the heavy pieces were unloaded from the ship over the course of a morning, fighting the remaining swell.

All transformers were directly received on land from the ship on conventional modular trailers and then transported by road to the project location.

Two consecutive heavy-lift shipments of Heat Exchangers for Jazan Project (Saudi Arabia)

ALTIUS has recently carried out two consecutive discharge operations involving two shipments, from MV Abis Dunkerque and Mv Roma (ex-Mv Fairload), at Jazan's JEC jetty (Saudi Arabia), of a total of 11x Heat Exchangers shipped from Italy, weighing from 125 up to 210 tons of gross weight. All units were directly offloaded from ship to shore at the construction site jetty, to be immediately transported to the foundation at the project site location by a convoy of four conventional modular trailer trucks performing nonstop round trips to the final site, thus optimizing and speeding transport and delivery.
