Last Break Bulk cargo shipment for "NODO ENERGÉTICO DEL SUR" project (Peru).

ALTIUS successfully completed the last sea transport breakbulk cargo shipment for the "Nodo Energético del Sur " project. Onboard the vessel M/V ALTAIR, the cargo sailed from the port of origin in Vietnam to the port of discharge in Ilo (Peru).

Unloading the vessel was difficult due to a strong wind and swell but it was nonetheless achieved successfully, after 18 hours of hard work.

This was the last shipment of a break bulk Project cargo which included two shipments from the US of three turbines and three generators, one shipment from Korea of three transformers and one general cargo shipment from the US. All shipments were unloaded at the port of Ilo (Peru). The heavy units were transported directly to the site and the rest of the cargo was taken to a temporary warehouse.

Third Shipment of steel Beams (Seville, SPAIN - Glasgow, UK)

Early in March, ALTIUS PROJECTS DIVISION transported the last 28 Steel beams needed for construction of the bridge S-123 on Glasgow's M-8 motorway in the UK. The beams were 35 meters long and weighed up to 65 tons.

Loading operations took place at Esclusa Quay (Port of Seville). The beams were loaded onto a coaster vessel (gearless vessel) by shore cranes.

ALTIUS engineering team decided to stow 18x steel beams below deck to optimize the vessel's available space. The remaining 10x beams, plus one container and other smaller items, were stowed on deck.

All beams below deck were properly lashed and secured using clamping straps and wooden bars as chokers. Lashing chains were used to secure the Steel beams stowed on deck and the rest of the on-deck cargo.

Third Shipment of Steel Beams (Seville, SPAIN - Glasgow, UK)

In early March ALTIUS PROJECTS DIVISION carried out the transport of the last 28 steel beams for the S-123 bridge of the M-8 motorway in Glasgow (UK), measuring up to 35 meters long and weighing 65 tons.

Loading operations took place at the Muelle de la Esclusa (Port of Seville) on board a coastal vessel without means and the lifting was carried out by land cranes.

Altius Engineering executed the stowage of 18x beams at two heights in the hold, optimising the available space of the vessel. On the deck of the vessel, 10x beams plus a container and small items were stowed.

All steel beams, stowed in the hold, were secured using webbing and wooden "crash" blocks, and lashing chains properly anchored and secured to the cargo.
