On 14 September last, a reactor weighing 195 tons and measuring 28 x 5 x 4 metres was unloaded in the port of Houston.

The reactor was loaded in Bilbao on 12 August on Spliethoff's ship Pijlgracht and, after a navigation complicated by Hurricane Dorian, which forced the ship to seek shelter in Baltimore and Chesapeake for a week, it finally arrived in port on 14 September .

This was only the sea leg of the shipment of the most critical component of the Fulcrum Biomass plant, which Abengoa is building in McCarran, Nevada, where a road transport of almost 2,000 miles/3,218 km lies ahead.
