Last September 14, a reactor weighing 195 tons and measuring 28 x 5 x 4 meters was unloaded at the port of Houston.

The reactor was loaded at Bilbao on August 12 on Spliethoff’s Pijlgracht and, after a navigation complicated by Hurricane Dorian, which forced the ship to seek shelter in Baltimore and Chesapeake for a week, it finally arrived in port on September 14.

This was only the marine portion of the shipment of the most critical component of the Fulcrum Biomass plant, which Abengoa is building in McCarran, Nevada, where a road haul of nearly 2,000 miles/3,218 km lies ahead.
